The rule
Every eligibility rule is shown before you pay. A guest who meets them is not turned away on arrival.
- "Eligibility rules" means limits on RV age, rig type and length, pets (number and breed), and minimum stay.
- They appear together, in one list, before payment.
- This doesn't protect a guest whose rig or party differs from what they entered.
- A campground may still refuse a guest for conduct, or for a specific safety condition named in its published policy (for example, a visible fuel leak). The reason is recorded, and the guest gets a full refund under Rule 9(a).
What this looks like
A campground with a "10-year rule" for RVs says so on the booking page before checkout.
A guest with a 2019 rig books, arrives, and is let in. A guest with an older rig sees the rule before paying, and can book elsewhere.
Why
RV age limits sometimes surface only at the gate. One guest reports being refused "despite having an existing reservation."
How it's checked
Testers check the software company and the campground separately. Each gets its own result.
Software company
Pass
- The booking flow has a place to list eligibility rules before payment.
Fail
- It doesn't.
Campground
Compare the booking flow with the policy page linked from it. Rule 3(d) already requires a record of every conduct or safety refusal. Having no refusal records isn't a fail if there were no refusals. An unrecorded refusal fails if a guest's complaint or a test shows it happened.
Pass
- Every limit appears in the list before payment.
Fail
- A limit appears only after payment or at check-in.
- A recorded refusal cites an eligibility rule that wasn't shown before payment.
- A safety refusal names no specific condition, or wasn't refunded.
Not met
- Software limitation: the software has nowhere to show the limits.
